Gas prices went through the roof, food prices skyrocketed, and the housing market really went all the bad. As the economy went spiraling down hill so did the wealth gap between the poor and middle class. Many Americans lost there jobs which has lead to high rate of unemployment along with people seeking more Government Aide then in past years. Food Stamp benefits skyrocketed as more people applied for benefits to help feed the family. The wealth gap has widen between the poor and middle class and its only going to get worse.
Regardless of how the economy is doing it seems the super-rich come out ahead and to prove it, Wall St. has set yet another new pay record. The rest of the nation, not so much.
